Despacito was a track from the year 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the most popular streamed song across the globe within the space of six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop music that not only drew attention to Latin Music but also reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs from 2016 compared with two for 2015. At the peak of Despacito's chart-topping success in 2017, 19 songs mainly in Spanish were in at the very top of 100. It climbed to 41 by 2020. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. In the following months, several artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars including Drake as well as Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019. A few performers of reggaeton have criticized the shift to mainstream music in 2020. A new group, Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the growth and evolution of reggaeton. The group incorporated elements from different styles and electronic music.
