Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946, into a humble family of 12 children at one point, realized that she could escape the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. Her songs were written before she was able to write or read. When she got her first guitar at age of eight, she started performing at radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year Gold Band Records, a small independent label. Although she became an established local celebrity while at the high school years, her ambitions were much bigger. After graduating the high school in 1964, she moved straight to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums from Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for the show he had syndicated to television. Parton got her first gig in 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, she joined the Grand Ole Opry. In 1974, she quit The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. The song by Parton, I Will Never Love You (for Wagoner), hit the number. 1 spot after they separated. The first time in 1974.
